On Tuesday night, April 14th 2020, President Trump announced he is putting a stop on funding for the World Health Organization (WHO). The funding will remain halted while the Trump administration reviews the handling of the global pandemic.
U.S. taxpayers provide the World Health Organization with more than $400 million dollars a year
U.S. taxpayers have been funding the WHO at a rate of more than $400 million dollars a year, which is the highest amount provided by any nation.
During Tuesday’s coronavirus task force press briefing, President Trump said, “with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have deep concerns whether America’s generosity has been put to the best use possible.”
Halt in WHO funding angers globalist ideologues
The move received some immediate blow-back from globalist ideologues, who claim it will jeopardize the WHO’s international efforts for vaccine trials, providing test kits and medical advisories to countries around the world.
The decision to halt funding ruffled the feathers of U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterras, who attempted the emphasize the importance of the WHO to fight the coronavirus, stating that it was “absolutely critical to the world’s efforts and must be supported.”
Patrice Harris, who is the president of the American Medical Association (AMA) said, “fighting a global pandemic requires international cooperation and reliance on science and data.” Patrice Harris has urged the Trump administration to reconsider halting the funding for the WHO.
President Trump has valid concerns about the WHO
It has been pretty well documented that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) concentrated its efforts more towards information control than control of the coronavirus outbreak itself. In fact, the CCP is still obsessed with information control, by mandating it has the final say on any research concerning the origins of the outbreak that led to a global pandemic.
The CCP also denied access to medical professionals from around the world to investigate the outbreak within China. If the WHO is such an important international entity, they should have been able to convince the CCP of the global importance of allowing infectious disease experts from other countries in to investigate.
The WHO, instead, just sat back and repeated to the rest of the world what the CCP was telling them about the outbreak. The Who was against restricting travel and waited until the virus had circumvented the globe before even mentioning travel restrictions. They also stated early in the outbreak that there was no human to human transmission, which the rest of the world found out very quickly was a lie.
No one can deny now that the WHO has been little more than a mouth piece for the CCP during this global pandemic, which has resulted in over 128 thousand deaths worldwide as of April 15, 2020.
Given the facts that have been coming out daily about the WHO’s complete incompetence since the very start, President Trump has every right to stop funding the WHO while it thoroughly investigates their actions during this global pandemic.
